Looking for a matching fade for this kit. Is that a good idea? Currently using a "Jet" 16" floor tom blue sparkle for now. I just love the sound of these drums.
WTB: 16" Vintage Slingerland BDP floor tom Last viewed: 19 hours ago
Not surprising you love the sound......they're RADIO KINGS!!!! The Black Diamond Pearl on those drums hasn't been made since the forties, in fact the Slingerland BDP from the 60's and up is different.
You might look for a Chicago or Niles era Slingerland floor tom in BDP, a much easier find. You'd have a drum that at least would match better than the blue sparkle tom. Or you could re-cover the blue tom with BDP wrap from Jammin Sam or Precision. Finding a matching 16" floor tom is not impossible but you'll have to be patient and keep your eyes out for one. You've got an amazing drum set there, good look in the hunt!

Howdy! I have a '60's Ludwig so I don't know if that helps or not.

When you get done with the Jet Blue Sparkle, would you consider letting it go? I have a Majestic in blue sparkle and would love to have a 16" ft to compliment the rest of it. current sizes are 12,12,20X14, 14x14.9yes that is two 12's on the mounted tom's. It is a copy of a mid-60s Ludwig Hollywood.

Hi, I've actually bought the blue sparkle Jet as an add on for my Ludwig Downbeat kit. I wanted to make it like a mini Bonham kit..if you will... I've painted the inside of the Jet floor tom to match (almost a match, not as cream colored, I've just noticed..) the Ludwigs because I like using the EC2 clear heads. I now have a 60's hat stand for the kit too.
Hi, I have a 1966 16" Slingerland floor tom in re-wrap BDP. The drum is in great shape but the wrap doesn't match the rest of my 1968 BDP kit as well as I would like. If you are interested I could send some photos to you.
Thanks,
Art
