This is currently on CL in Albany, ad claims "small keyhole", I've never seen one bigger than this!

This is probably the result of some crack repair.
HAha, that's like a perfect actual old fashioned door keyhole.
Could be a four inch cymbal ... in which case that would be a small keyhole.
I actually might still have the key that fits it.
Well, it's easy to see he is talking width, not length. DUH!
That's a big one, but not a deal breaker for me. Looks like it could be a nice cymbal.........marko

Heck yeah, I got a 22" Zildjan for fifty bucks that had a couple spider cracks in the bell hole and a 3/8" chunk was busted out. Slapped a grommet in there and I have been beating the tar out of that thing, with no ill effects, at least that I can notice.
Here is some serious keyhole on a LPS 24" .A large felt covered it up and when I gigged with it there were no complaints from the other guys in the band

Here's one for you all. It's an 18" old Istanbul K that was on ebay, that I took a chance on and got for a very good price. It was majorly keyholed and cracking, but it is one of the best sounding cymbals I've heard to date. I didn't want to keyhole or crack any further, so I had a buddy of mine make this "keyhole stopper" out of a chunk of nylon for me. I have never seen anyone do this before so I was unsure how it would work. I have played it out many times and the keyholing has completely stopped and I have not noticed the cracks progressing either. However I am a fairly light player though. I left a little play for movement as well which helps a lot.
