Those are my camping drums!

A fine job!You have a future in plastics!And Premier can consider an upgrade.My family and I saw The Lion King in Boston last Saturday,and some street performers at Quincy Market were performing on those buckets.But without the Premier badge.......

1 floor tom and two tom toms and a bass drum. 4 Shells. I think I'll re-wrap my drum buckets with this wrap. Seriously! LOL

Man, I'm tellin' ya bro, you should do the polyglitter on these. They are the perfect candidates to get the extreme drum makeover! Or, send them to me, and I will do it, and find a suitable donor student...one of my co-workers is a teacher and has several candidates.

I would remove the covering from the ripped up drum(s)and try sanding the surface-finding it hard to believe Premier would make a masonite drum.I'm thinking the surface may have been affected by the pearl installation process,like heating/glueing.Basswood is soft and white/blond colored with very little graining,almost balsa-like.BUT-that surface under the ripped pearl looks like masonite.I hope It's not.P.S.Seems like there is a good number of these particular drums with this particular problem.This is the third one I've seen-but all this color!

Man... If it wasn't so sad, this would be a funny thread! electricit

jonnystix (sp?) is right. He does AMAZING things with the paint stuff. I had a beater entry kit made up of orphans and strays. Thru it all together and painted 'em (not as well as jstix's job) and gave 'em away. One happy kid on some re-born timber thumping away.

After closer examination I have discover that these shells have, what looks to be 1 ply of wood and a ply of particle board. I know particle board is extremely hard, and denser than plywood. I guess premier decided to make a super hard shell or something.

My dear Gilnar, we know that Stagg, in your part of the world, are drums, regardless of the fact the edges are "cut with spoons", according to a local dealer that I know...and just because you owned them, makes you a man of valor, and tolerance. Did you do the right thing? Did you donate them to a needy kid of talent, or the other right thing, have bonfire?

They are MDF, from what I can see. Still, they would make a great "Extreme MAkeover of the Drum Type"...you could sell it to A&E...hey, maybe we should all come together and do a production with Mike Rowe and sell it to A&E. I need the money really bad. As a matter of fact, we could have him travel to each of us, doing segments on each of our unique talents, and sell it to A&E, and put the money in our new company...
