Rogers Kit???

This seems fishy - I'm no Rogers expert, but aren't these drums MIJ? The grain in the shells runs top to bottom, no painted interior, no paper tags.

Did Rogers ever have an import line? The logo's on the drums look just like my friends "real" vintage 60's Rogers kit, except his drums have the tags, painted shell interiors, etc...

This kit was talked about on drumforum.org and I think they nailed it pretty much like you said.

Also, the seller says scratches from when they were shipped with newspaper then later they were his dear departed dad.

I'm going to move this over to Ebay auctions, it fits that forum section better.

I'm no expert, but did anyone else notice the extra hole in the shell which the "Champagne Glitter Wrap" covers up? Isn't that tom holder from the 80's???? I had a Rogers set in the 80's and it had that same tom holder where you could use Pearl arms as well in it. I'm thinking an 80's or possibly late 70's kit with different badges. Am I close?

ok ........I had contacted the seller and he had said that he knew nothing about the drums and that an employee at Sam Ash had told him to put them on Ebay. He had also said that someone told him they were from the late 70's to early 80's. What I don't understand is the badges. Did they use those type badges that late?

I personally think its pretty much a frankenstein kit. There are so many issues with it that just dont add up. Including the obvous recover.

God I cant stop laughing, and crying. 1300 dollars for a set of Island Music Rogers, recovered. And how about that snare drum? Either its assembled upside down, or ...........its an effed up home build. Whichever, its garbage too. Unless................unless that snare was the real thing, assembled upside down, recovered. But I dont think so. Whomever the buyer is, is not familiar with Rogers.

Well that's it for me... I'm rewrapping my "Vintage" Cortley drums. Does anybody have a couple of Ludwig Keystone badges and a can of white spray paint I can borrow?

I'm so tempted to contact the buyer. I hate to see this type of crap happen. Yes I know - Buyer beware - Poor fool. :(

Im glad this isnt me, or anyone I know. I kind of feel sorry for the guy, but in some ways I dont. There is so much not right about this set, I dont think a person with very little knowledge of Rogers drums would not have questions. Oh well, too late now. If someone tells him, maybe he will have the balls to take the negative?
