I know this won't really qualify to some of you since these are Japanese, but the blue sparkle Majestic kit is all there. The goods? For $50.00 I got the 5 piece set with all the top of the line hardware the Star factory used at the time, all the original flat base stands, a Ludwig Speed King HH stand, Paiste Stanople hi-hats, a Paiste Stanople 18 ride and the score, a 60's 14" A Zildjian crash that made the whole deal worth the 10 bucks gas. It sounds sweet....The drums are all mid-60's and the guys dad used this as his gig set-up. He played it out in all the honky-tonks around Oklahoma. It was in a storage building for the last 5 years, and I never saw the Zildjian til i got home with it.
The next day I posted a plea for help on CL for a snare bottom head as the music stores are closed on Sunday. A guy replied all pi$$ed off because I got there before he did. Apparently the seller had two on the way at the same time.Car Driving2 The guy was mad about losing out on the cymbals Violin and told me " I get sick to my stomach just thinking about a 9 year old beating on vintage bronze with a heavy hand. Tell you what, I'll trade you out for a few bucks and some trash cymbals for him to learn on".
Can anyone even begin to imagine my response to that statement???

Bought a 4 piece Ludwig Standard Silver Sparkle 13, 16, 22. 14 metal snare. Top hi-hat Zildjian, bottom junk. 16 inch crash cracks in bell (small) best cymbal in the lot, 20 inch Zilldjian K (EAK) Heavy Ride. Ride is not as heavy as I've heard others, I like it. All for $200.00
Sounds like a deal to me! Pictures???

Just picked up another 16x16 Ludwig black panther floor tom for $125, very nice shape.....also scored a 1951 Leedy&Ludwig 14x26 VIRGIN bass drum for $75, and I should be picking up a 12x15 Leedy&Ludwig marching snare I just won off of ebay for $71 this week sometime.....the floor tom will complete the Carioca kit and I will probably sell that off. The Leedy & Ludwigs will be a keeper, for a while at least.....Hmmmm what if Bonham played a Leedy & Ludwig instead....Hmmmm
Picked up another very nice Luddy Supra for 74 dollars. It came with a case and a stand. That was a nice one. The wife asked why I needed another snare. I pulled out the iPhone and pulled up ebay's going rate on one of these. She smiled and said..."cool". I offered the gent more money and told him that it's worth more. He said that it's been in his parents storage and he just wanted it gone. I have him every penny he asked for and offered to at least pay his fuel for driving to meet us. He even refused that. Sometimes you can lead a horse to water, but you really shouldn't hold their head under for too long. Well, that's what I've learned anyway.
1958 WFL Green sparkle kit, with all original calfskin heads, WFL Speed King kick pedal, Speed King hi hat stand, and WFL snare stand, along with a box of hardware, like cymbal arms, tom mounts, wood block, vintage sticks, etc. Drums in pretty great condition.
All for....................$60.
Pics are not easy for me to do, due to computer issues. Set is player's quality, tom has a Pearl mount opposite of the original, I hate that...all in all wrap is not bad shape, some scratches, needs 1 hoop for bass drum, one is original and the other is lacquered maple.
