That is not the original strainer. It is one that works, however, unlike many of the originals. I have some original Star strainers that are really good ones, not the typical MIJ type we all think of when looking at and for these snares. Looks good, all I would do with the edges would be to hit them with 220 and make them very smooth.

Guess that you'll need one of the three strainers in the pics below. But I can't say, which of them fits into the original holes in your shell.
Member Mikey777 should be able to serve you with such spare parts.

Thanks Ralf and jonnistix, I'll probably just leave the snare the way it is. The only thing I don't like about this kit is the bass mounted cymbal arm because it's too far away for me to comfortably ride. I don't like the far reach.

I sanded the inside w/220 and put a coat of Tung oil, cleaned it up and put a new Evans Hazy 300 and a set of 42 strand wires..It sounds much better. Thanks jonnistix for the info. D' Drummer
