Vistalite at a pawn shop Last viewed: 8 hours ago

I had to go downtown today to tandy leather co for a job at the shop and stopped by a pawn shop I bought my first acrolite at. they have a blue vistalite kit there 2 tom toms a ft and bass with some cheap cymbals and a zildjian k ride for 559. The tom i looked at had a few scratches on it.

The also had a no name japanes snare for 129. I bought a mint black acrolite there for $50 a few months ago and they wanted 129 for a cheap=o japaanes snare. anyway, how much are the vistalite worth. btw blue olive badge.

They're worth more than $600. But, look closely around all the hardware for cracks. Be aware of any spider-webbing in the acrylic, too. Light scratches can be polished out.

If insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, is it insane to practice?

[COLOR="DarkRed"]Yeah, just check carefully the vistalite condition...also the seam lines on 'em, and teh bearing edges. If all looks OK, along with a K (probably a newer K) it's not a bad deal...talk 'em down to $500....

I'd check over these really carefully for cracks. Check the bottom bearing edges also. (So basically what Jaye said.) Scratches you can work out, to a point. Cracks can be halted or fixed. (My 16" floor tom has a couple of cracks from the muffler mount.) But all that is going to effect the value.

The only pawnshop Vistas I've ever seen (and they're always blue for some reason) have been in bad shape. I wouldn't give more than a couple hundred for the typical pawnshop Vistas I've seen, but your kit may be nicer than what I've found.

I just got back from the pawn shop. I checked out the vistalite real good. I found absolutly no cracks, but it does have scratches. The bass drum hoops arent original, but have silver sparkle inlays, The tom tree is missing one of the tom mounts. It comes with a 20" k zildjian and a 20" scimitar and 2 pairs of 14" b 8 hats and a ludwig cymbal and ludwig snare stand, but no snare lol. The said they would take $500 out the door. thATS EQUAL TO $462 + TAX.

On my way to that pawn shop I stopped at another and bought 3 cymbals. 2 zild and a sabian. lol
