Hi, I have a 5.5x14 Slingerland 3-ply Artist snare from the early 70's that I would like to modify. I am interested in vintage style snare beds, and would like to have someone put them on the bottom bearing edges. The snare beds I am talking about are the older style Slingerland solid shell Radio King and solid shell Artist type. Even the Slingerland 3-ply Artist snares had these as well, up until 1970, when Slingerland stopped using this type of snare bed. My Slingerland 3-ply Artist is from 1970-1972, so this Shell does not have any snare beds at all! The vintage style snare beds were great, the Snare would never Choke! I was thinking of doing this modification myself, but I am not skilled in this area. Who should I contact for this type of vintage style snare bed work? Any ideas would be great.
