Vintage Slingerland kit, PLEASE HELP! Last viewed: 11 minutes ago

Hello there,

I have what I believe is a vintage Slingerland kit in White Marine Pearl (WMP)

I have had a lot of trouble ageing it, and finding out what model it actually is, as there are no badges or serial numbers or anything on it, so I?m hoping that someone here can give me a hand!

The sizes are ? 20? bass drum, 16? floor tom, and 13? rack tom.

?Sticksaver? hoops.

14 lugs on the floor tom, 12 lugs on the rack tom, 16 on the bass drum.

Bass drum has holes drilled for the ?rail? type tom holder, but has a different one fitted.

Has a cymbal arm clamp on the bass drum.

Has internal dampers on both toms.

There are NO badges or stamps or serials anywhere on any of the drums.

Has diamond shaped tom mount on the tom with a slot for the tom to be mounted on.

The only history that I have for this kit, is two stickers on the floor tom, one says ?Pauwkes Jazz? and the dates written on it are ?10-11 Juni, folk en blues?, and ?17-18 Juni, Jazz festival?, the year isn?t written.

The other sticker is metal, and says ?musica nv eindhoven?.

Both of which I found out come from the Netherlands.

I?ve been looking around for ages to find out what it is, and I heard that really early Slingerland kits didn?t have badges, for instance the ?Chicago? kits, my kit could be a Chicago, I have no idea.

Any information about this kit would greatly help me?.Please help!

Here are some photos of the kit;

Any information would be AMAZINGLY appreciated,

Thankyou,

Jimmy.

[COLOR="Navy"]Jimmy:

Your kit was made by Pearl in Japan somewhere during the mid 1960s into the 1970s. The lugs resemble Slingerland, but are not the real thing. The reinforcing rings on the shells are thin and typical of Pearl shells then, as is the interior ply of native Japanese wood with the vertically placed grain. The WMP wrap is not Slingerland design, nor are any of the factory original parts.

Pearl back then was competing for market share by intentionally copying basic components of the Slingerland line. They made drumsets as an OEM for many retail outlets worldwide, so their drums were being marketed under many different names and badges, and sometimes with no name. It also looks like some of the parts on your drums may be post-factory retrofits.

Thankyou so much for this information!

Also, rough guestimate, what sort of price do you think I would expect to reach if I sold this kit?

Thankyou for your help
