Judge, I did some more research on this and it seems to a high degree of certainty the Dynastar Formula 602s were sold through a store called Bonne Music Center in Syracuse, NY in the early 1960s prior to Paiste's deal with Ludwig in 1964/65.

So I'm not surprised you picked up your cymbal in upstate New York.

Doesn't look like there is any connection between the Bonne Dynastar name and the later WERCO Dynastars.

Check out my post on facebook post regarding this (you might have to join the Paiste Vintage cymbals group)

I haven't been able figure out why the name Dynastar, but it looks Bonne Music might have had been one of the main places, if not "the" main place to get 602s in the USA (or at least on the East Coast) before the Ludwig deal.

I have found out that around this time, Bonne started importing a lot of instruments from overseas in addition to Paiste, so maybe they tied them all together under the Dynastar name.

They must of sold a significant amount of cymbals for Paiste to make them a special emboss.

Here are some promotional materials for the Dynastar 602s. All have the 1421 S. Salina St. address, the location of Bonne Music Center in the 60s and 70s.

No problem - one of many Paiste mysteries I've been working on solving. One off the checklist.

Check this out - another variation of the Formula 602 emboss has surfaced this weekend with an additional "Hi Fi Bronce" added to the stamp.

Must've been sold through a European distributor in the 60s.
