Yes. You can find a comparable contact cement at the hardware store. Here's the stuff I use. Once you get the replacement wrap, then take old wrap off hoop, sand, paint, then install new wrap. Try to re-use short staples that hold wrap to hoop, so be careful removing them. Yes SirTry to mimic what the original look was like.

They are all in the repair stage right now, but here's today's version. This Slingerland hardware came installed from NEW. Same deal w/Ludwig arc spurs. Actually the serial #'s are 195XXXX which puts them around '78. The SHELLS ARE primo! Party

Not sure of history on this kit, it's a head scratcher for sure. Here's my theory:someone stripped old shells and used wrap& hardware over some new replacement shells, and along the way replaced a portion of bass drum wrap with the closest match they could get. In other words, Even the badges are original but the shells are replaced. I'm painting hoops and shopping for a MATCHING 12 X 8 tom(IF ANYONE HAS ONE TO SELL).Coffee Break2

I have a 1965 slingerland maple set and need help with some questions please. I looked at the catalog and the only set that came with a 22 inch bass drum option was the Gene Krupa set. Does anyone know if that is the case. I am trying to get info to price it. It looks like the artist snare, dark blue sparkle finish. 22, 13, 16, 5.5 by 14 snare. Reinforcement hoops. I have all the original stands, pedals, hi hats stand etc. So I dont know if I should list it as a Gene Krupa edition, since its the only one in that year with the 22 inch bass drum option. Please help or refer me to a link. Thanks...

This is a tough question. There were more kits than just the GK 1N that came with 22 bass standard. They were usually lacking the floor tom, though. If you know that you know that you know this kit came as a set, then it is a GK 1N. If not, then you have several options on what it might be.

When we got the kit it didnt have a floor tom, I got one off ebay, but the color was more of a purple blue. What would it be if it did not have the floor tom , and it had the 22 in 13 and 5.5 snare. Im positive its all maple. The catalog showed all the sets and none had the option on the 22 except for the Krupa.

If you want to go with strictly what was cataloged with an optional 22 inch bass, then you have a Krupa Deluxe minus the floor tom.

That's not to say that you couldn't have a complete Windsor Outfit with a non-cataloged or optioned 22 inch bass drum, cause it could very well be that set too.

Both outfits came cataloged with an Artist snare, but you know that already... you looked at the catalog.....:)

All of the following outfits had the 22 bass as either standard or as an option during the 1965 time frame.

With the limited information provided (and with no pics), your kit could feasibly fall into one of these.

The fact that you mention your kit did NOT come with the 16 floor takes away the 1N as an option. It remains here for continuity.

They have a stranglehold on the market on Bermuda Sand (Champagne Sparkle) wrap, so their prices are about double compared to their other colors.
