Hi all, I have a weekend in Chicago coming up, I've never been. Any good shops I should check out, aside from Steve Maxwell's store? Any feedback would be appreciated.
Vintage drum shops: Chicago Last viewed: 5 hours ago
I love Chicago. If you've never been, this is worth checking out. They have overviews and more detailed tours if you're interested: http://www.architecture.org
To answer your question: Chicago Music Exchange: http://www.chicagomusicexchange.com/drum/
They're a bit pricey, but it's fun to look.
And if you happen to be near Wicker Park, http://www.piecechicago.com. I believe Rick Nielsen from Cheap Trick is a partner.
This is also a good spot for barbecue, near the El line from O'Hare: http://www.smoquebbq.com
I could go on all day, and I'm not even a homie. It's one of my favorite cities. Have a good time.

^^ What they said.
I've not been to Piece, but if you do get a chance to go it'll give you an excuse to go see the former Ludwig factory on Damen which is right around the corner!

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
Thanks everyone for your replies, great feedback. A 6.5 x 14 Supra or Acro is at the top of my list right now, would be so cool to score one that weekend - for all kinds of reasons.
