Mcjnic

I just picked up two more of those Buddy stands in really good condition, but there are even some tiny issues with those.

Was that you that got that two-stand auction on Ebay??

The one day auction? Yes. I picked up those and some Slingerland mounts for the bass and the toms and a Slingerland foot pedal. I missed the doggone direct pull stand. I hesitated for a few minutes. Stupid me.

From lucky

Are you looking at it as a collector or player? Jaye is right about 700.00 not being a bad price for just the drums but are they something that floor you? Money is tight nowdays and to shell out that much cash for a kit, even though they are in great condition, they would have to be my set up and a color that was not real common. 70's silver sparkle is not rare, and does not have that crushed glass depth to it. For me if it was one up, two down well maybe. Just my two cents.

Well, I am hearing something different from this poster. So the color is not that rare. I am both a collector and player. My intention was to replace the set I have which is a mix of orphaned drums with a complete set. Do I have to, need to? No. I was intitially looking for a good deal. (aka a "steal"). I was looking to buy something for $300-400 bucks. Which does happen sometimes. This is no steal. But it is well above everything I see out there. So, I am know giving it a hard look. Its the fear of regret. I don't think I'll see this condition and completeness again. Maybe the answer is try a lower offer to start.

Do you need the hardware and cymbals? There are kits out there, good ones for three to four hundred without the extras. This is a great time to buy, be patient.

Yep, market is WAY down. Items are not selling today for as much as I paid for them just five months ago. It's a great time to buy, dismal time to sell.

I'm staying pat. I would - in that condition. To me, it's a no-brainer. That kit is in very very good condition. It's just a few bucks in the grand scheme of things. Money really should never come between you and your musical passion. When that occurs, compromise comes in tow. I've always believed that as a drummer, I will always purchase exactly what I want to play. I refuse to compromise on my equipment. I'm not rich. I'm just wise. I've played for almost 45 years and have had kits that weren't what I wanted to buy. It was a waste of money, time, and effort. Never again.

The kit is worth $1300. If the seller is smart and not in a hurry he will get $1300 eventually. I do not believe this kit will lose any value if kept in this pristine condition. The buyer will possess a kit worth $1300+ as the years go by.

Thumbs up.
