While researching a recent snare drum purchase, I ran across your excellent photographic reference pages. Not only are the photos clear and well-formatted, but the text is also informative and illuminating. Because of your site, I was able to date my purchase as a late 50s Slingerland snare with the first version of the Rapid Strainer, and the "loopy" black and gold Niles badge.

I'd have liked my snare whether or not I was able to turn up any definitive dating information on it, but it's cool to be able to pinpoint its "birthdate" with such accuracy. Many thanks for your assistance.
