Bass drum already polished. Next step will be the badges and air vents.

I'll try clean the cracks that were filled with novus.

NOVUS is not colored (IIRC). Yet, some car polishes ARE and are made to "fill" cracks like that. You might want to research about that as there are alot of cracks on these drums :(

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

Have issues with the cracks on mine. Didn't want to muck up the wrap so put the hardware back on and the cracks will stay until a fix found.

Here are crappy basement photos. First is from 8' second close up. Apologies for the background clutter.

What if I grab a permanent blue marker, since should be dificult/impossible to find in purple or some color similar to this finish, and I paint the white inside cracks? I can use the novus 1 after that to clear up and try to make them unnoticeable.

Today I cleaned the air vents (grommets). I leave the badges alone because the clear coat washes away very easily and the ink becomes susceptible.

Great job on the restoration, although it's too bad about all the cracks. If it were me

i would've removed all the wrap, and paint and satin lacquer the shells with a nice

light pastel color, for a cool retro 80's look, or maybe an original solid Tama finish

to give it a new spin on a classic finish.. Good luck with the rest of the resto ;)
