I just picked up a set of Imp's w/rerings which I believe is a Mars 5. The serial # starts w/68. Anyone know of a Tama serial # database?

I don't think the earlier ones such as yours were a database.

In the early 80's they put a hyphen in the SN for the year.. such as 81-*****, etc

It is Metallic White. It was a totally random C/L ad that got me these drums. As a matter of fact, the ad read “Random Drums” and included “silver Tama” drums.I expected COW Rockstars or 80’s stainless wrapped Swingstars.

Mid 70's for sure. The serialnumber started at 50***, i think in late '74. So 68*** could be 75/76 or even 77. It should have thick rerings either way, which to me is good.

I’ve been looking for a set of re-ring Imp’s for about 10 years. These poor fellows were ridden hard and put away wet...pix soon.
