Bunny,I'll take the lashes with a wet noodle if the drums sound better. You can always store your vintage hardware and rubber tips if you need to sell or want a photo of e vintage look. While the shells of yesteryear were great, once cannot ignore the fact that we have made a lot of technological advances in the past 50 years. Many of those advances have been to address real issues and the result is something that is better. Nothing wrong with that.

I was being facetitious! Damned iPad speller didn't takeover that word, yet it amercanises very other bloody word I learnt in Queen's Enlglish!

I am a believer, believe me!!!!

Yeah- I'm THAT guy!!!

mine are on ludwigs, they were a tight fit

Ludwig (US) Classic brackets/tom legs are 9.5 mm; The Elite brackets/

tom legs are 10.5 mm. I don't know what the import Ludwigs use.

The shrink tubing is a great idea to snug things up.

John, the product description says they are for 10.5mm legs. How good do they fit on your vintage stuff? All my old Luddy tom legs measure @ 9.5mm.

tnsquint answered for me. I either wind a little black electrical tape around the tip of the leg, or I use some aquarium tubing I have to make a little collar for feet. Not hard to jury-rig a solution. More important to have them on there, no matter how you do it.

John

Too many great drums to list here!
