Slingy red sparkle 20" bass Last viewed: 1 hour ago

I have a super nice Slingerland bass drum on ebay here

It is single-tension, but would easily convert to separate tension. All you would have to do is put springs and inserts into the lug casings. It sounds great as is. I'd really like to see this go to someone who would appreciate it.

You will need 8 / 10 spring which you can pick up at a hardware store....

The hard part is find the lug nuts...the good news is that it is all standard US thread (fine).....So you could put reg nuts in the lugs and secure them inside.

You are going to have a very tough time finding rods.....You could make your own if you know a machinistflowers2

lonecomic. i converted a blue silver duco bass drum like this red sparkle one, it was a major pain, i cut the original single tension rods to size by useing a pipe cutter, then used a tap and die set to thread the ends to 12/24, then found another set at a buds vintage drum shop repeated the first process, i had the other parts the lug inserts, springs and now she's double tension, that was enough to last a lifetime work wise, Yes Sir

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

Thanks for the replies, gentlemen. If I were keeping the drum, I would leave it as is, in original condition. The single tension hardware is shiny, works great, and the drum sounds fantastic. The guy I bought it from used it for recording in Austin, Texas. I'm just trying to get some room to walk without tripping over drums! :) This will leave me with a couple of Ludwig kits, which is really all I need.
