Slingerland snare question Last viewed: 3 minutes ago

Looking for help identifying my snare drum. Pretty sure it's from the 70's - 6.5 X 14, Niles "football' black/silver badge, ser.# 385xxx, COB (I'm assuming brass even though it looks like aluminum inside(?), pretty heavy, magnet doesn't stick to shell), TDR strainer, 12 lugs and 4 vent holes. Any info., date range and/or opinion of value would be very much appreciated.

[COLOR="Navy"][SIZE="1"]drenwick:

Your snare drum is a 1979 Model #204 Spitfire, 12-lug, 3-line chrome-plated brass shell (the interior coating you describe is correct), TDR strainer system, 4 vent holes. You should have badge, solid-knob tone control and TDR strainer in successive panels left to right. The 12 lugs on the Spitfire line was an influence of endorsee Louis Bellson, though the drums did not officially carry his name.

uddaman!

Any idea as to a range of value? Except for one unfortunate 1/4" ding, it is near perfect.

Thanks for your help!
