Finally got around to posting a pic of the Slingerland orphan kit I have been putting together for the last year. Hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed restoring them :). What a great hobby.

20'' bass drum ('59-61)

16" floor tom (`67)

12" mounted tom ('64)

14" Super Gene Krupa Radio King snare with nickel hardware ('57)

Enjoy!

James

James, would love to see your vistalite kit, listen, parden me my eyes might be going bad, but it appears from the pic that set is a black/silver badge, or is it gold? anyway, did you purchase your snare at the same time? The wrap is a shade off, I have the same issues, I aquired some pieces at various times, and although they are same era, the MWP can vary some amoung the set, I think it gives it character anyway. Hey Gary - The Slingerlands are the black/gold badges. The bass drum is from Chicago '59-61; mounted tom is a '64 (no badge), floor tom is a '67 from Niles with "chocolate milk" interior. You're right about that snare too - its a shade more yellow than the rest of the kit. It also has a black gold Chicago badge (without the fancy S loop) and has nickel hardware, unlike the rest of the drums which have chrome. There is a nice pic of my snare in the snare gallery section too if you're interested in a closer look. I believe the snare is a '57. All of the drums were purchased separately over the last year, except for the bass drum which I had sitting in a closet at my parents home for the last 15 yrs. Oh - Ill pm you tomorrow and send you pic of the vistalite kit. Thanks for looking!
