Hello David, Thank you for the great Slingerland pictures.

To the left of the following text:

"Here is what is called a proof. They set up the shot take the film and create a "quick" copy of the negative to see if they like the way the shot looks. The envelopes are filled with proofs."

You show a "proof" of a very rare Tempo King #940W (W for Wood Hoop) "Snap-On" pedal. In the factory "proofs" are there other pictures of this and the Tempo King #940M (M for Metal COB rim) pedal shown from different angles? I am very interested in seeing/learning how Slingerland attached the pedals. Will you sell scans of these pictures? I now own a 1965 Slingerland Jet Outfit with a Snap -On pedal but I'm unsure if I have all of the correct parts. Thank you for any help you can offer. Bill

David,

The pedals appear to be the same in both photographs. They are just attached differently. In the first to a wooden hoop and in the second picture to a COB rim. The first pedal would be called (in the catalog) the Tempo King 940W (W for wood hoops) as mentioned in an earlier posting. In looking at the second picture, I noticed that the picture shows an attachment for what would be called a Tempo King 940M (M for metal COB rim). The clearly shown detail is similar to the one I have. My pedal has a factory stamp of 940M on the base. I was very happy to see the detail as the piece attached to the inside of the rim is the first evidence of that piece's placement. The 1965-69 catalogs did not show any of this detail. Really appreciate your efforts. As soon as I finish moving, I'll dig the digital camera out of storage and take some pictures of my Jet Outfit #20N. Hopefully the forum will find them of interest.

Regards,

Bill
