Hello all-this is my first post-please be gentle! lol Anyhow, I have read extensively about the many and varied finishes that Slingerland offered over the years; I have never seen or heard anything about the finish on my drum set bought in 1975: it appears to be a leather or Naugehyde covering. Any input?

You may have an example of one of Slingerland's "Custom Cordova" finishes of the mid 1970s. Coming in several colors, these were indeed Naugahyde, sometimes also referred to as "leatherette". The Cordovas were a trial finish, and never actually made it into a catalog.
