Curious if 800 is too much to pay for a very very clean mid-60s two up one down kit. I'm on the fence and am considering pulling the trigger. The kit is really really clean and has been skinned anew. No stands. The hardware is very sparkly and the edges are almost perfect. 20/12/13/16 Any ideas? I don't have pics (isn't that typical). Would any of you barn burners pay 800 for a nice clean Slingy Blue Agate? I'm being pulled this direction and would like to know if it's worth my green.

Should be a Modern Solo. 20/12/13/16 fits the config. I have a Krupa and all the stands from that period, so I'm not concerned with that. The kit is sweet but I'm not sure about the 800 tag. I've paid more, but not lately. Here's a pic. Don't ask.

That's not a bad price, are floor tom brackets push buttons? you know their a pain, michael that's not a bad deal! a snare drum with it and that would be a 1200,00 kit on ebay, I just saw the pic is that the kit, if yes is the wrap original, if yes. you may want to pull em in.

I thought Stage Band was one up, one down.

The config fits New Rock or Modern Solo from '69ish though.

Solo was in the twin 8x12 thing in mid sixties so it wouldn't be that.

What are the serials ???

Yep, just saw the pics too.... set-o-matic didn't come around till '68 so .....

I believe the floor tom brackets are wings. If not, I'll swap 'em. I'm seriously thinking about pulling the trigger on this one. It would look so cool with my Rogers Red Onyx. I'm moving out most of my Ludwig drums to make room for the new projects. I just like the tone better on these Slingerland drums. I will make sure I have a SuperClassic kit and a Downbeat, but that's pretty much it. And for the record, I'm not collecting! I play these configs for particular types of gigs. I use the little Downbeat setup with calf heads for the very cool deep groove gigs. Man, that thing cooks. I'm looking to replace the bass, though. I am still not happy with the spur arrangement. I know, I'm anal. I would swap someone a bass and a 14 inch floor for a single 20 bass. Driving me insane.

Didn't write the numbers down. It's a one-owner kit that was brought in to a business I'm working with. The typical "stored for years and just took up space" bit. Anyway, I do recall that the numbers were very very close. It's stamped 65.

I think it's good looking, you need to give it a new home!! it and the onyx can get cozy with each other!!

Then it has had a set-o-matic added......

My '63 Modern Jazz set is like that..........

I sure do love Blue Agate...... I wouldn't think you would have any problem recouping your investment later on.
