I'm pretty sure that's pink sparkle, not champagne. You can tell by the size and shape of the sparkles. Also, that finish tends to fade severely...if you remove a head or lug you'll probably see the darker pink.

"The pics look like champagne sparkle....which is arguably the most sought-after and expensive finish a vintage drum can have.

I think that's a pretty strong, debatable statement. Champagne is desirable, but it's certainly not the most sought after or expensive finish.

Well....I DID write 'arguably', Rich....;)

Regarding the tom mount...it's NOT jerry-rigged...I have really seen Slingys out of the factory with that tom mount.

It is basically a bass-shell cymbal mount, combined with an upper half of a hoop-clamp mount. I believe it to be original.

From the pics, I still lean towards Champagne; I don't think Pink would fade to that slightly sienna-ish tone the photos imply...but, whether pink or champagne, it's a rarer finish...

Hess, look at the color under where the head rings would be.. or take off a lug...THAT is probably closer to the original color. Then cross-reference it to the source you are using.

It's a very cool kit, or 3/4 kit....

That tom mount is original, that is what was originally on my "Pink" slingys. And those are definitely pink.
