Sold a snare drum on Ebay to a guy in France....

Are there any extra forms and such to be filled out at the Post Office?

Thanks.......

Not that I know of. The only odd thing that I know of is when they request we "say it's a gift"...that odd thing they try to do. That keeps 'em from paying some duty or tax or whatnot. I have never played that and never will. It just strikes me as unethical. So, I'm not sure of any other paperwork needed. I've shipped to Spain and elsewhere. No problems with any of 'em.....other than the high price to ship.

Yes. They will. That's where you get to choose what is being sent. ie. gift. USPS takes care of all the paperwork. You have to make the decisions and such.

Yep, the cat in France asked me to designate the item as "gift" on the paperwork.... I agree, it's not ethical, so I'm not going to do that.

Thanks, guys

Sometimes what I'll do is lowball the value a bit on the form...nothing drastic, just maybe 15% so the seller doesn't get clobbered with customs fees on the other end....of course, if you are adding insurance, or using a method where insurance is included.... then you don't wanna do that for obvious reasons.

But I would say that, since the buyer didn't ask whether you'd do this before it sold....he probably just figured he'd give it a shot, what the hell ....

My wife and I sat and stared at that pic for over five minutes. The only thing we could come up with was some bad Euro-Disney copy of Stonehenge. Are we close?
