Yes, Ringo played 60's Ludwig 3-ply drums in OBP. These are pretty standard shells and you can find a bunch of drums with that shell ocnfiguration.

The harder part of course is finding the drums in the correct finish.

There is a book available about the Beatles Gear and I think it cover what you are asking about.

From what I have seen and read, Ringo also played a Premier set very early on, but he was never known for it like the Ludwigs.

There are some die hard Ringo fans that can tell you every minute detail including the hardware and cymbals he used.

Sorry for the sketchiness, just trying to get the ball rolling!

Yeah. He used a jazz fest snare also.

thanks for the info. I'm just really interested in the sound, not so much the finish and stuff. so 3ply shells with reinforce hoops?

thanks!

For just the "sound", get an early to mid '60s Ludwig set with the keystone badge and the white interior. Early on Ringo used a 20 12 14 set and later he swithced to a 22, 13, 16. Ludwig club date sets (center lug) in the smaller sizes can usually be found for less money and will essentially have the same sound.

The snare drum was always a wooden Jazz festival model (8 lug, 5 x 14, p-83 throw off).
