Rogers Timbales COB 13" & 14" Last viewed: 11 hours ago

I have a set of Rogers Timbales for sale. I'm guessing late 60's early 70's Humberto Morales Model. Please share any info with me if you think this is incorrect. I'm not that familiar with the different Rogers Timbales.models...

Both 13" & 14" COB drums are in very good condition. Both have Rogers heads. Chrome is very nice . Wear on the hoops with some missing plastic. That is an easy repair with plastic dip. Rogers mounts on both of the drums.

I will provide more photos to interested buyers.

$300 + 30 shipping lower 48.

Thanks in advance.

Those drums can 68-69's models Humberto Morales were only Made 1967 he died soon after and contract was never renewed and they made few changes that brought down the timbales sales from Rogers .In the 70's model had a stand change to them. They are also not the Humberto Morales model The Humberto Morales Model had Humberto Logo on them and badges were perfectly set and not off set as these are. Also the claws were timbales claws these are bass drum claws used in later sets and do not allow you to tune the drums proper a mess created by guys from the Fender distributors of that era. Another problem that you will have in selling that timbales is the stand. They are very hard to get and when you find will cost you as much or more than the timbales.

What I recommend you to do before you sell is to get large Ludwig clip mounts and remove the Rogers mount screws and on the same plate Replace clip mount slide from Ludwig clip mount and add a Ludwig stand. You will be able to sell for a few buck more and it will look more presentable to the buyer now that you have a stand. Here You have what the Humberto morales look like

Thanks cuquito717. I will make the correction in the listing. So the difference is the badge, claws, and the way they adapted to a stand?

Regarding the claws, yes I can see the difference between the drums you've pictured, but I've never seen bass drum claws on later Rogers bass drum with no stem or guide canal at the bottom. I know the early Fullerton have a longer stem, and then the later version shortened up a bit, but the claws on my timbales have no stem at all. I'm pretty sure my claws were not the same claws Rogers used on bass drums. It looks like the 67 version "timbale claws" on your drums were earlier Cleveland bass drum claws with the no stem, and the Later version like mine are simply the Fullerton with no stem, both designed for timbales.

I did read about the mod one could to do to the mount without drilling. Thanks for the reminder.

I also know the stands are hard to find but there just might be someone who already has a stand... you never know.

Again , thanks for sharing your knowledge with me and the forum.

Much appreciated.

Yes Badges Claws were the real difference on the timbales. Stand on your model were the same.

As to the claws all 70's models bass drums came with that short stem claw with out the guide, that was when they started making them in Mexico and cutting down on materials. All the older timbales had claws like on my set till 1969 then they mess up the claws and stands.

The stand you can buy from www.jp2creations.com he sells it for $495.00 and take 6 months to make it. That why my easy fix is way cheaper and easy find

OK good luck with sale any help you need feel free to contact me.
