Rogers Super Ten Snare Last viewed: 3 hours ago

I bought a set of 1970 Ludwigs about 15 years ago that came with a Rogers Super Ten chrome snare. Can anyone tell me some history regarding this snare. I know the powertones and dynasonics were popular, but I don't here alot about the Super Tens. I would believe that it is an early 70's drum.

Cheers

Rogers swivo badges up to about 1976, when they changed over to Big R foil badges. Transition models have both badges. Chrome over steel shell. Same lugs and throwoff of same era Dynas. Personal taste determine popularity.

I think that SuperTens are killer snare drums. I have an early 6.5" that I love.

I have 4 COS Supertens, and 8x14 Maple 10 ply, and a maple 10 ply that was custom built for Gina Schock of the Go-Go's, they are great drums.

All good comments on the SuperTen thus far... and ... I have two myself, early models. A while back a member asked some questions about the Rogers SuperTen, and this was the response I wrote... actually, have a read of the entire thread. Thanks TommyP for the link to the thread.....My Super Ten is a 6-1/2" x 14" with serial number 1382. Approximately what year in your expert opinion would this snare be? Thanks again all.

Serial #1382... yeah, that's an early 1973. My earliest one is serial #0077, but it's the 5X14 whereas you have the 61/2X14 which is a rarer size. Nice drum! What condition is yours in? Do you have pics?

Snare is in great condition... Some minor pitting... Forum won't allow me to upload pics right now... Will try later. What would you consider the value of this snare in CDN TommyP?

Thanks

Pics are without a doubt the best way to help assess a value... very difficult/innaccurate otherwise. Post 'em up when you have a chance!
