I have a Rogers Holiday Snare that I am trying to restore but the wrap has a lot of surface scratches. Is there a way to buff them out?

Several on the forum have mentioned a product called Novus.. it's has a 1 grit, 2 grit, 3 grit, process that you work through.
I have used it on some blue sparkle drums I have that were covered in contact paper.. the mounted tom had what I would descibe as a 2"x2" dull spot on it when I peel away the contact paper. I went through the whole Novus process... it did make a difference, it didn't completely return the shine to that spot. I will say that my son had noticed the spot before I polished the drum.. then he had a difficult time finding it when I was done... but he did find it.
People sell Novus on ebay and there are online stores that carry it.
Not a Guru... just interested..
