They are "rare"

One sold recently for 1475.00 on ebay. It was exceptional.

Hey JohnG!...

Ploughman is quite correct here. Rogers just didn't build all that many 14X14 floor toms, thus they are a bit rare, as well as sought after for their sound quality. I always thought it a bit odd that Rogers made so many kits with an 8X12 and a 16X16. The 14X14 just seems to fit in there better with an 8X12. Anyway, here's another little tidbit on the Rogers 14X14:

Price is always up there for sure on these... but ... the wrap can dictate HOW HIGH it will go. A Cleveland era WMP 14X14 seems to bring the most in the way of money. Those always seem to hover at the $1000.00 mark, with some really nice ones going $1200.00 or more contingent on the buyer's need/want/wallet. Amazing. The funny thing is:

I have THREE Cleveland 14X14 floor toms with my two Rogers BR kits, and in WMP. Money in the bank?! :-)

I cant wait for the XP10 1982 and 83 Maple Dynasonics to take off like that. The more respect the XP8 shells get....... the more likely it is to happen, and those drums deserve the respect. They are a whole lot rarer than the 60s wood dynasonics.

I picked up my Sparkling Blue Pearl flat gray Dayton 14x14 on craigslist for 300.00 it needed mounts replaced, and still needs original hoops, but Ive got it. I drove 80 miles for that drum and the guy comes out looking like......... What a total redneck sucker Ive got here........... and Im looking at the drum going........ Hah, dumbass. ...... I think we both went away with a perception of total victory.

It seems like vintage 14" x 14" floor toms from all of the american drum companies command big money anymore. I'm trying to find both a slingerland shell for a project kit i'm putting together, and a gretsch in midnight/sky blue pearl, and the prices are high. There is a gretsch on ebay right now that is at $585 with a day and a half to go on the auction. I don't even want to guess what the final price will be!

And yet another prince splitting up what is probably a really nice 12, 14, 20 with matching snare. Trying not to use expletives here so feel free to fill in the dots - what a f...er.
