I have a question for you guys though:

I thought Dynas were double badged during the transition to Big R...or did they double badge them starting in 75 for a short while?

BBK - how's the 602? FYI, it looks like my uncle's Ludwig melodic tom kit is heading my way as well. I may set it up for a while and keep an eye on prices. It's far too big for me, but it will certainly be fun to play again.

I used the 602 for some different applications, and it's still hard to get used to that huge mounting hole, but nice cymbal otherwise. I found another one about 3 months ago, a 24" ride, same era. A monster of a cymbal and great sound as well. Pics of the melodic toms sound cool. PM me if you are willing to sell the case and instructions seperately, I'd be interested.

BBK!... how are you my friend BBK is quite correct!... 1975 was the last year for the oval Dynasonic badge as it all went over to the Big "R" in 1976.

I'm doing very well Tommy....I'm relishing in the fact that I was correct on some Rogers knowledge as quoted by the Master....:)

Hey BBK -

Cool news on the 24" - that's a lot of brass! It must sound awesome.

I'm excited about seeing the Ludwig set again - it's been packed away for years - the last time I played on it was almost 20 years ago! I can't believe that, actually... It's a monster kit - something a 24" cymbal would look proportional next to! I'll definitely get pics of that setup.

I do think I'm going to try to sell it for him as well, but not before getting a chance to play it again. It has the original cases and stands as well, though the hardware is a bit more worn than the Dyna. He actually bought the Ludwig kit and the Dynasonic as a single package back in the 70s.

Regarding 'parting out' the case/manual from the snare, I'd like to avoid that for now. I think it would be nice to keep that package together. If it seems no one is more interested in the sale as a result, I'll definitely let you know first.

Rogers oval custom built dynasonic badge drums always had the script logo. For a short time, the first generation run of Big R Dynasonic drums had the script logo in the same location, and the Big R badge in the former oval custom built badge location.
