I know before I even ask that I should provide pics. Problem is, I've not seen 'em. They were called in to me via a music connection. They watch for me and notify me of anything coming in I might like.

Here's what I know:

1967-68

22, 12, 13, 16

All have good tags

Dayton Ohio

close numbers

Holiday shells

Red Onyx

Londoner

no snare

very good condition

slight wrap crack on 16 at seam - repairable

no stands

asking 450

Do I go?

Is 450 close to the value or is it way under/over? Is this worth the hassle of yet another drum kit in the house - i.e. the wife factor.

At $450.00 sounds like a deal to me, especially since that is what they're asking. Maybe you could get them for 350.00. At that price you can't go wrong. But I thought you are not a collector! Ha Ha.

I'm not a collector. I do seem to be an "accumulator" of sorts, though. A collector goes after specific items to "complete" a collection. I just grab cool stuff that comes available and ultimately end up with more than I can use. Go figure. How many kits does one really need? I believe I've inadvertently made it my Summer quest to arrive at a solution. Let's hope that it's only five. I don't think I could go beyond that and still have a place to lay my head at night.

I may end up parting with a kit or two relatively soon. Dang. This has been an interesting break. I start my training tomorrow. I'm not ready. I wonder if I can just not show up when school starts. Do you think the kids would miss me? Most likely not. Easy A with no teacher there to challenge them. That would be every parents dream. Oh well...........up and at 'em.

I think it becomes more of an addiction. The thing is that drums are just cool. I would like to have four kits. Slingerland pink sparkle (which I have), Ludwig mod orange,Rogers blue agate and Gretsch blue sparkle. Well theres always a soft spot for pink oyster pearl Slingys, anything wmp, dw champagne sparkle, oh yeah, my piano black slingys, maybe a green glitter Ludwig kit, etc., etc.

So, what's the call? Is this a steal at 450? Is it just a good deal? Or, is it par? What say ye Rogers neophytes.... As I stated earlier this year, I'm not all that "up" on Rogers kits. I know enough to get me in trouble and not nearly enough to post bail. So, please weigh in on this to give me some kind of guidance. I'm really in the dark here. I understand that this is ballparking with no pics. But, that's where I find myself on this one.

I would buy that set for $450 in a heartbeat. If you don't want it, buy it and I'll pay for you to ship it to me. That is, if it is complete and in good condition, meaning no cracks or anything to make it unplayable, etc.Yes Sir

I would buy it at that price. I think there is good flip potential here, especially if they are complete. You dont have to bump your price with an additional amount for shipping, condition is good, price is good.

Its a go.

Here's some pics of the kit. It has some issues.

rough edges on the 13

rough edge on the 16

split wrap on the 16

missing bass hoop

missing 12 hoop

missing 13 hoop

missing 16 hoop

missing most of the tensioning rods

missing one side of bass t-rods and claws

13 collet hardware does not tighten

13 snare rash

NO drum heads

missing most of the little tension screws on the swivo hardware

Additional info:

serial numbers and interiors:

16 - 87734, speckle

13 - 87567, speckle

12 - 77177, gray paint

22 - 84916, gray paint

Chrome looks real good.

I'm thinking that it's too incomplete. The edge on the 13 is in very bad shape. The edge on the 16 is rough but not near as bad. I'm going to pass on this one.
