Rogers drum set value Last viewed: 1 hour ago

I am thinking about buying this set and wanted to get some feedback regarding value. The seller's info is vague but these appear to be 60's Rogers drums with the bass drum and rack tom being the Tower line and the floor tom being the Holiday line. The snare drum is a "Boogie" something or other in Psychedelic colors. The kit includes the cymbal stand that mounts on the bass drum, the snare stand and hi-hat stand. The bass drum hoops are not original and I doubt the rims on the toms are original as well. Any idea of value on something like this? It's hard for me to determine as ebay does not have any completed items that I could fine with these type of lugs. As always, thanks guys.

Wow. Was that a great deal, or is $600 about what they are worth?

Thanks,

I bought the kit from a local drum shop, I believe it was a pretty good deal, I think those floor toms can sell for $300 alone. But it was a mixed kit and I'm sure he didn't have much in them. How much are they asking for this kit?

I'm getting them for $550 but I know I will have to ultimately replace the bass drum hoops. It does come with that Boogie snare and some hardware.

From what I can see in the pics, none of the hoops are Rogers. Hard to tell, those are pretty low res pics. I hate cell phones. 5 bills wont hurt you on these. Would be better if they had the right hoops. Ts and claws look ok from what little I can see of them. But with so many hoops replaced, get some better pics and some interiors so you aren't buying a basement flood with resounding sewer smell.

Look at it this way, what else can you buy for $550? That's far better than anything you can buy at GC and you'll never find an all original kit for that price, I say go for it. The kit will sound great and it looks like it's in good condition.

If $550 is what you have to spend and you want to get out and play some music, go for it. If you are thinking investment, it is marginal. You might recover your $$ splitting it up or if you strip it (but I think you'll regret that in the end). If you have a few hundred more to spend, you can go for a set that has matching pieces. Those would probably hold their value more than the mixed set-up of Tower and Holiday.

You might be in luck with the rims as those look like S-hoops on there now. That might mean the rims were swapped for preference rather than just some of them being lost...if you're really lucky it could be the same deal on the bass drum hoops! Guy liked a lot of chrome.....? :)
