Hi Dr., What do you recommend for replacement Gromments for a mid 1960's Slingerland logo badge? There are so many out there to choose from, but I am looking for one that is the closest to the type that Slingerland used in the mid 60's. I am eventually going to be recovering a mid 60's Solid Maple Shell Artist snare, so I am trying to get it right on the money in terms of looks. Any info would be great. Thanks again for all of your advice. Phil Cormier Fitchburg, Mass 01420

Well, the mid 1960's Slingerland grommet was aluminum and peened on, and most drum parts suppliers today carry brass or nickel plate. I have not personally checked for availability lately, I'll have to let you know. Check marine stores, sailmakers, party stores, etc. And take care so that the O.D. of the grommet matches Slingerland's 7/16" badge hole diameter.
