THIS DRUM SET HAS BEEN SOLD: Edit...If you are serious about buying this drum set, and want them shipped to you, please contact me to discuss this.
$850 cash and carry. This drum set is configured as 8x12, 14x14, and 14x20. The drums were found at a house in the countryside west of Fort Worth. The white bands of wrap on the drums were all delaminated with ugly brown splotches from humidity between the white layer. and the clear top layer That white wrap could not be salvaged. So, I ordered vintage White Marine Pearl strips cut to size from Precision. I have since acquired wrap material (white sparkle Cortex counter top material) that will go with the drums if the new owner wants to return them to that cosmetic. The drums are in 8.5 to 9.0 condition. The interiors are the chocolate milk wash that was used from 1966-1970. A few drums made as late as early 1972 have the chocolate milk interiors. My guess is that this set was ordered no later than 1972. The factory must have pulled together completed shells and wrapped them the way the order specified. This was certainly before the bicentennial in 1976. The serial numbers on the toms are clear to read....19851 for the 8x12.....19877 for the 14x14. The number on the bass drum badge is a bit too blurred for me to read it. Maybe your eyes are better than mine. There are no dates inside the shells.
The red sparkle snare drum and blue sparkle canister throne are not included in the sale. Of course, the single tom holder, floor tom legs, and bass drum spurs are included. The cymbal arm is not included.
Here are some pictures of this beautiful and fun-to-play drum set. I would prefer to have the new owner come to pick them up in the Houston area. I will consider shipping them. Let's talk.
