I have 8 Slingerland drums. The chrome snare has a brass and black badge with a serial number in the mid 100k range. One tom 12x8, has the same type badge, the other tom 13x9 has a silver and black badge. The same situation with the two floor toms 16x16. The bongo's have rectangular badges silver and black with no serial numbers. Have you ever seen or heard of this type badge? Thank You. Don

Hi Don!
Your Drums sound like they are made around late 1966-early 1967.
Slingerland designed a new Badge for the Marching line in the early 1966 and that was put on the Marching gear from around April-May 1966. It was Black/Silver with raised letters, just like the Black/ Brass.
Eventually they started to phase out the Black/ Brass badge from around late 66-early 67.
So there are Sets out there with a mix of badges.
Now to you Bongos....
They are made around 1974-79.
That Rectangular Badge was put on the marching gear from around 1974 and on.
says : Slingerland- IS PERCUSSION
Cheers!
