The ad says 60's, please check the inside tags. Even if it is a 70's Fullerton, CA make, I still like those drums. If the Acrolite snare is included, that's a real good price. I can only go by one picture. but, it seems to be right. If you want a white Rogers kit, with a bonus Ludwig Acrolite snare, she's ripe for the taking. I hope some of the Rogers heads show up to help out.
On the topic of the Rogers tag, I would hope if the tags were 9/72, the good people at Music Go Around would not say it was a 60's kit. There are late 60's tags that say Fullerton, CA. Even if the drumset has 9/72 tags, it's still a good price.
I've purchased several pieces from Music-Go-Round but NONE without first viewing them in person. Unfortunately, I've had experiences with them where several pieces were misrepresented, although I don't believe intentionally.
In this case, I'd definitely check out the interior shells, tags, and hardware in person. There's a chance that this kit could also be a re-wrap with extra holes underneath.
However, everything could check out just fine and, if so, the asking price looks pretty good. Nothing wrong with "negotiating", however. That's half the fun, isn't it?
Good luck and keep us updated!
Front and rear bass drum legs......
Yeah, i have bought a few things from music go round also, but always in person, they are a franchised music store chain, and a lot of the kids that work there don't know about vintage equipment, and most likely are not trying to be deceitful, but when dealing with something like a rogers kit where original means everything, i would put eyes to equipment before plucking down your kash money.
Hello everyone (ima new member)
I also saw that white rogers kit and was very interested in it....I was looking for a white kit and I like rogers as my bro has a 60s silver sparkle rogers kit...i called the musicgoround store a couple weeks ago to inquire about it and they mentioned that some of wraps/seams were lifting and that there might have been a couple extra holes in one of the drums...sounded like it was in fair shape...they also said that shipping would have been about $200 (I'm in Chicago), so that kind of killed it for me.
I have had very good luck with a number of music go round stores buying via phone order, but only by asking lots of questions, getting more photos emailed etc. Call them and talk with them, be specific about what photos you want etc. If you are not getting a straight and complete story, move on.
I am surprised to see a script badge rogers kit at that price at the Albuquerque store. That store usually has pretty inflated prices compared to other locations.
2 sets original spurs , original double tom holder all collets correct someone sould latch onto this if the wrap is crud then make it a rewrap and a players kit still cheap..
My local Music Go Round, Stockton CA, is the ideal model for
"Supidity in Business Practices."
And they EXPECT their clientale to be dumber than they are. I have been a regular visitor for over SEVEN years, not a single one of their employees know who I am. I think thats pretty bad when a person has been in your store 3 to 6 times a month over a seven year period, especially one that has spent a few thousand dollars on various merchandise. And yet, every time, its like the very first time they have seen me.
