I can't remember if I've asked this question already or not. I have an old slingerland kit called "Odyssey"...I think it was some kind of slingerland experimental kit back in the day. I need parts....I need history....I need a drink! Any help will be appreciated.

Well, I'm afraid there is not all that much history to the Slingerland Odyssey. The were made by Remo for Slingerland, who was considering them as a possible OEM resale market move. They lasted less than a year's time with Slingerland, during 1983 - 1984.
Remo continued to market their PTS drums - pre-tuned system - in the later 1980s with their "Innovator" line of drum sets. As you know, the PTS heads were "pre-tuned", i.e., under a constant minimum tension. Louis Bellson was with Remo at the time they were developed. He actually participated in their development and endorsed them.
Remo still uses PTS in some of their percussion offerings today. As far as what you need for your kit, you might keep an eye on eBay for "vintage" Remo PTS drums and parts. Also, you might contact Remo directly for information.
