Its another month and a half later since my last post on this subject with a few more queries from my son and still no response. I understand this is a side business and he's more focused on cymbal making, but my son would really love to get the cymbal he's asked about if its still available. At this point he doesn't know how to proceed. Is there any other way to contact him?

Mark, good luck to you. I would have written this one off long ago. Sometimes, it's the choices we make that drive others to or away from our passions.
I have seen enough to make up my own mind.
I'm sure his stuff is great. It's just not for me. There are plenty others. He won't miss me.
That's a shame that your son has had to deal with this bad taste. I wish him well.
I hate to say it, but have you tried Facebook? I know he has an account there as does his offsider Heather Stine
I agree about writing this off. If it were me I'd be VERY reluctant to send money to anyone who appears for all intents and purposes to not want to sell me anything. Way too risky. It's unfortunate but I'd seriously walk away before you create an even bigger headache for yourself.

JMO but if he took the time to reply here and not to you directly he's either p i $ $ ed or just not interested in selling at this time. Like others have said it may be time to move on. I used to deal a lot in vintage car parts and have a couple guys get back to me a few years later finally wanting to sell. Their stuff... their rules.... kinda deal and take it or leave it. To me it seems his true passion is more in making the cymbals than marketing and selling at this time. Nothing wrong with that but can frustrate those who are truly interested sometimes.
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

Well said. There are lots of places to get cymbals. Have you and your son considered alternate vendors? If there's one, there's another. If you can't even get him to respond to a money-making (for him) proposition, what are you going to do if the the cymbal doesn't show up? I must say, it's very disingenuous of him to present himself as being in business, when it's obvious that he could care less. Chalk this one up as a loss. What cymbal is it? Perhaps if you posted a link to the cymbal, somebody here might know where you could get one. For real and without the headache.
Good luck.
Stephen
Who puts up a website to sell cymbals then sends potential customers snarky messages about how they're "not a business"?
Sorry, but if you put up a website to sell a product, you are in business. If you don't want to sell people cymbals, don't put them on a website saying they're for sale. Seems simple enough.
I wouldn't give this guy a penny even if he would take it. Spend your money with someone who appreciates it.

Took the words right out of my mouth
He is no doubt sick and tired of responding to tire kickers...people who most likely are just shopping and asking questions...THAT, will suck the life out of anyone...Try and look at it from the other side...Soooo quick to be judge without knowing all the facts...

Maybe so, but that unfortunately is part of doing business.....like it or not. If you are selling something on a website, it is a business, like it or not....
