Need Help Valuing Large Drum Kit Last viewed: 44 minutes ago

Hello there, everyone. I'll try to keep this short. My wife's uncle (by marriage) recently passed away somewhat unexpectedly and now my wife's aunt has asked us for help getting rid of some things she no longer wants, including a very substantial drum set.

I've been trying to come up with some values for this kit, but my knowledge of drums is pretty limited. I came across this website, which has been a great help, but I figured I would ask for some assistance in putting together a price for all this (we're in Minneapolis, if anyone's interested!).

Also, if you have any ideas on the best way to sell all of this, I'd appreciate it. I'm thinking Craig's list. We also have a Music-Go-Round nearby, but I'm guessing they'll give me less than half of what this is all worth.

To be honest, the biggest issue with this stuff is that it needs to be cleaned up. It's pretty dusty right now, but otherwise the stuff is in pretty good condition. Some of the heads are all little beat up and a couple of the snares (the part across the bottome of the snare drum?) are broken, but the shells all looked pretty good to me. Minimal oxidation, but some bumps and bruises here and there.

I've attached a picture of the whole set, but here's the list of what's included:

Are you selling individually, or the whole lot. If you are piecing out stuff, I'm interested in some items.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

If the price is right, we'll definitely piece things out. I know a few of the items might be a little more valuable than the others, so feel free to send a PM or whatever.

Getting lots of interest on the Rogers and Gretsch snares, as well as the Zildjian cymbals, but I honestly have no idea what they are worth. Any guidance from people who are knowledgable, but maybe not interested in buying, would be appreciated.

To those who have PM'd, I'm working on getting some better pics e-mailed to you. Please be patient as the drums are at my wife's aunt's house and it's about a 45 minute drive to get up there.

I think I'm going to take a van up there tomorrow to get them all and bring them to my house so I can take better photos and be in a position to mail them out if the need arises.

Without pics, close ups, from several angles of the drum, not the drum head, the bottom side of the rogers, its kind of hard to value what you have. Badge, serial number, details of flaws, dents, etc. are important.

OK, I'll work on getting some better pictures taken. I wasn't exactly sure what to take pictures of when I was up there. I will try to get more close ups and pics of the bottoms of the drums. I think the Rogers and the Blackhawk snares are the ones with the broken snare on the bottom, but I'm not positive.

I will upload all the pics that I have of the stuff to this post and the next couple.
