Wow, That is my son's birthday, only 7.21.00. If you ever decide to let them go, and it happens to be around that time....
His first kit is like many of ours, an old Japanese, not a Chinese, like so many today.

I had a set of those way back in 1970-75, I had an LM401 snare drum though. They recorded great, listen here, the top 2 projects,
