This is a MIJ kit I resored/special painted. Originally it was a "Lynx", comparable to Aria or Emperador. This set was in reasonable state and was 22/12/13/16. The 12 inch tom had 8 lugs, just like the 13 inch tom, so I seperated it and converted it into a snare drum for a custom made childrens drumkit. The remaining 22/16/13 had a BDP wrap that was in good shape. However, I strongly dislike BDP wrap, whatever brand on whatever drum. So I took it off and used the drum for a special paint experiment. After putty and sanding I applyed a thick layer of metallic copper like paint, allowed it to dry a bit to let it become a little stiff. Then I gave it a texture with a sponge. Later I applyed black paint. Then I sanded it untill the copper paint came through. Then I gave it a transparant satin finish. Also cut decent baseball bat bearing edges. Kit sounds great.

Wow ! Great job.. I've always been a fan of MIJ kits from the 60's.. I have a Stewart Blue Agate 20x14 bass drum that i use at one of the pubs i play in, and I love it ..
Warm, punchy and fat sounding kick.. Your kit looks amazing and totally resembles a custom "boutique" kit..
Outstanding job!
Thank you!

This set is a kind of art project- how many Pearl Exports and Tama Rockstars could benefit a makeover...all that "Wine Red"...
