Could you help me to identify the version and the age of my drum?

Thanks in advance for helping!

All of the imformation you need to get a year is on this web site. Please do a little research then come back and ask any specific questions.

Slingerland Badges

Slingerland Serial Numbers

Slingerland Finishes

That should help you in getting the year of your drums...

I'm so sorry, but i've dissected your website and I haven't found any mention off a metallic sheet covering old Slingerland Casks...

I wanna renovate my drums, so, I'm searching a maximum of informations about it...

And, because I'm french, english is'nt one with me ^^'

If I'd miss a mention, a beg your pardon in advance...

Look at the finishes page again... At the bottom you will see the chrome finish.. Your finish is called COW or Chrome over wood...

The last two sets of finishes from 1979 and 1980 feature the chrome wrap.

Then look at the serial number chart and the number falls around 1974. Look at the badge chart and that Slingerland badge was used from 1973 - 1980....

So your drums are probably within 1973 - 1975....

Of course our resident expert will correct that if necessary....

[COLOR="Navy"]Renan:

Your drums were made sometime during 1977 - 1978 at the height of popularity of Slingerland's "Chrome" finish, which we typically call COW, for Chrome-Over-Wood. This was a chrome-plated steel wrap, and as I say very popular in the mid to late 1970s. Your shells are 3-ply with solid maple reinforcing rings, which was the standard Slingerland shell at that time. Many kit configurations were made, some commonly encountered ones being 24-13-14-18, 22-12-13-16, etc.
