Ludwig Weathermaster Standard Last viewed: 5 hours ago

Can anyone tell me if this is a good deal assuming they are in good shape? If it is a complete set what model snare would come with this set? The add says chrome snare. If the cymbals are Paiste/Ludwig cymbals are they any good?

????

I don't quite get it. "Weathermaster Standard" sounds like it is just a Ludwig head type...

So, I am assuming the owner is reading the head label and assuming the drums are that brand. People do that, sometimes...

Is it a Luddy Standard with Weathermaster heads ? or are there no badges at all ????

...it may just be an old stencil kit...impossible to tell w/o pics.

You need some pics and more info before you can ascertain its value...

If it's actually a Ludwig Standard kit (they were made in '69)...go grab it ASAP.

I sent an e-mail to the person and hopefully they respond. They didn't give the bass drum size either. I'm hoping it's a standard Ludwig with the cymbals Paiste made for them. What would the badges look like on the standards?

Cool thanks. Now I know what questions to ask if they respond. If I am lucky it is all original including the cymbals. I would buy this even if the wrap is beat up because I have been looking for my first project for a while now. I will offer $275.00 - $300.00 and see what happens.

And "chrome snare" for that era would be nothing less than a Supra....

Actually, according to the link that Kevins provided, Ludwig sold a chrome plated standard snare during that era. It still probably sounds good though. When I e-mailed them with more specific questions about the set, like badges and stuff, they have not responded.

The seller sent me some pics and I am very excited. Just as a reminder, here are the specs: Ludwig standard, blue pearl flake, chrome snare, 12", 13", 16" and 22" bass with Slingerland pedal. Two Paiste cymbals and one pair of Paiste high hat cymbals. I offered him $300.00 and he accepted. I am going to pick them up tomorrow. I don't think he has ever taken the heads off because he wasn't aware of the re-rings. He is the original owner and said his mom bought him the set when he was a kid but never really got into them. Now back to how much they are worth. Assuming they are in round, have good bearing edges and the wrap is 90%, what kind of price would you guys put on these? He did tell me there was a chip in the paint (probably unaware it is a wrap) on one of the drums. Based on the link Kevins provided this looks like a complete set of drums, hardware and cymbals.

Nice complete set for a nice price! Clapping Happy2

I don't follow Standard prices much, so I'm not sure; depending on what the cymbals are, they and the hardware could be worth close to what you paid on their own, and the drums, in nice shape, maybe $600?
