paraphrased original listing, without paraphrasing..... So...what you are telling us is you have very little integrity? I mean, in most places, that is called "Bait and Switch", and last time I heard, it is a practice that is, if not illegal, at least unethical, or at the very least, slimy, kinda like a polyester suited car guy from the 70s....And I did see the other kit, and it seemed it was properly listed. I did not look through it completely, more just drooled over it than thought, "Wow, what a jerk this guy is". By the way, I saw it independent of this listing, not through your links. However, you chose to expose yourself as someone of questionable integrity. Looking at the posting, you chose to make this look as though you have drums, or parts, that are actually the real deal, to the uninitiated, and I am certain this was your intention. Am I saying you do not have said peices? No, but after this listing, and your confession that you have no intention of being a good member of the world community, only in it for profiteering, by deceptive means, then no, I would not buy from you. Someone from another country that does not understand "The American Way" of screwing, I mean doing business, could easily misconstrue this as a listing for some part of a drum set that JHB may have actually played. And some young kid, not knowing any better that sees listings like this get so excited and swept up in the "gotta have it" rush never know they are getting the shaft, until after payment has been made, or they get all the way to the end and are ready to lay down money they saved for a long time for that "perfect" kit, and then they are so disappointed....would someone really be that cruel? Looking at and dissecting the listing, for a novice, this looks like someone selling a kit JHB played. And you cannot deny this fact. The pictures and your wording in the text is almost ambiguous, and said young man could get the general idea they might be getting a deal on the JHB kit of their dreams, and Grandma died a few months ago leaving me all that money.......because they only see the "Make Offer" button, not bothering to read the entire text, because it's a bunch of numbers, not really a statement saying "These are not the Actual Drums That John Bonham Played".....And then there is the other story behind this kit, that it came from someone else and it was already in good shape...so which is it?Do I understand saving seemingly dead drums? Just ask around. I get it, and many people giggle at me, until I am done breathing new life into firewood. Then they ask how I do it, and if I will do it for them, or if I will make a video for them to follow along with so they can learn some new technique, trick or ingenious use for something that may never have been thought of for a drum set, or refinishing product, etc. But to list a product and intentionally plan on baiting someone into something of a trap?.....nah...Am I saying I am perfect? Hell no. I am slow, and lazy and just plain brilliant when it comes to restoration and rescue, but at least I am willing to accept my shortcomings, and even post them publicly. But being slimy and less than honest in my listings as to my pure intention? Not gonna happen.

Read my other reply on this post about the kit. Its a BEST OFFER ADD for a expensive collectable collection. Over 32,000 and years invested. 50,000 Or Best Offer was the asking price for all of it. I would meet someone in the middle to part with it everything on the listing. Kids with fifty grand? Be serious now, only real buyers ask for more info if they want any of it and they are. Have you ever bought a car and just paid sticker??? Have you ever sold a car, house or any higher priced item? People expect to work off the asking price as a guideline. Asking price, sell price, usually 20% less. ADD SAID "OFFER" ON THE VERY TOP IN THE ITEM FOR SALE LINE. In addition to feebays "Best Offer" option., in addition to "OFFER I CAN'T REFUSE" on the adds first line of the description in addition to "OPEN TO OFFERS FOR ANY OR ALL PIECES" at the bottom.

These are your own words Dcollector>Yep, it made me cry for him. I felt very bad for him and I'm glad now that I cared. He could not get anyone to bid on his stuff because he was brand new to ebay, had zero feedback, and didn't even know how to put pics on. I contacted him by phone and when he told me the story I couldn't keep myself from trying to help him. I helped the old guy over the phone through getting some pics on his listing that 2nd day but then later he called and said everyone was a rude ass on ebay to him who wrote him. Being I was the only one to call and talk to him and the only one who showed some love for his old stuff the guy actually tried to give me everything after I was the only bidder. I didn't take it of course, but when I opened the first box it was full of items that were not on his listing with a simple note that said enjoy. 4 more large boxes followed. When I put the bid in I wasn't 100% sure if it wasn't an excellent scam, but instead I'll be love'n his thermogloss kit till I die. My Problem with you yesterday was you are asking this RIDILICOUS price of $50,000.00 for a fake kit!! so if that is your definition of purist, Then I guess that's me, but now after reading this post of yours,,So you get this kit essentially for free?? do a little work and now it's payday?? Carl Palmer tried to sell his Billy Gladstone kit a few years back for $30.000.000 there is only 3 of these kits on the planet, celebrity built, celebrity owned, and celebrity played, and his did not sell, and here your asking your price PLEASE!!!DOH

I paid $1600. for this hollywood kit. Where do you see in this post i got it for free? He did try to give it to me because of rude ebayers and my love for his kit but i did what i felt was right and put in the $1600. bid

Have I ever sold anything of value? I have sold homes, cars all sorts of High end stuff. And as a salesman, I have a very high end clientele. However, having said that, those are not all that collectible as a set of drums, just not. I see them more than occasionally, in almost mint, never refinished condition, for $1000-1500. So to say a set of thermo ludwigs is anymore collectible than the next is plain silly. And in your own words, those drums have been refinished, so....? And you still left them to seem as though they were something other than they are. As for the cymbals, where did any of that rant come from? I looked at your add, and all I see is drums, some cymbals and a vague reference to a set of hihats that you contend are certified. OK, maybe they are. That and a couple of bucks get you a listing on ebay. I am glad you have them.

But my position is the way you deliberately lead your thermogloss shells to be something other than they are, another set of drums. Try looking at that listing from some other point of view, it reeks. It looks, to me, looking at it as someone that doesn't know you don't actually have the real deal, that you are trying to pass these, almost, as something they aren't. To me, you are playing off these drums as some sorta voodoo might come with them.

Good Luck, like mnj said, sleep well.

And yeah, I have taken more $100,000++ checks than you can imagine....

The seller has CLEARLY lost his marbles. If you paid anywhere near what you are claiming you are clearly insane sir! You can buy a replica of ANY of Bonham's kits these days NEW through Ludwig for about $2800.00 in the new 3-ply drums, the classic maple 6-ply series, even the vistalite series!

DOH

Where do these morons come from????DOHDOHDOH

BTW....ALL of Bonham's ACTUAL Ludwig drums have been accounted for and are not in the hands of private collectors. The drummer from Roxy Music STILL owns the maple kit.....so anyone who didn't do their homework after looking at this listing would be the only ones taken by this clearly whackjob seller. He is not listing the drums as actuals, but notice he doesn't make it perfectly clear these are not the actuals, either. And it is my contention that he knows full well that someone could easily misconstrue this whole thing and make a poor buying decision. So, while the listor does have some very nice cymbals, and a nice looking set of 3 ply thermogloss shells, he is not exactly acting like a top rated seller, as he implies through the magic of buying that priviledged status from ebay....

it appears he is using some highly suspect selling tactics. the green sparkle tom appears to be one. if i was a cynical person i would say that he was threatening to cut it up in the hopes that someone will come along and "convince" him to sell it unmolested at a high price. im no expert but isnt the green sparkle the rarest of the sparkles?

Yes it is. And he is only wanting to re-wrap the drum....or so he says. He has someone asking for the whole piece of wrap already.
