Only a purist? Do you just junk the kits that are beat to heck from the 70s? I've done my best to bring that kit back to life. It's a born together kit but, was very abused. The 16 was destroyed so i rebuilt the kit myself around that original perfect 16" donor. And yes, Its my baby and i'll sell it only for what i deem. Ocasionaly i post 1 of my more collectables for exposure linked to another i actually want to sell using activa. Worked again. The real sale priced purist 64' wop sold in 6 hours with 280 views. The Bonham got over 400 views all for a $1 listing.

These are your own words Dcollector>Yep, it made me cry for him. I felt very bad for him and I'm glad now that I cared. He could not get anyone to bid on his stuff because he was brand new to ebay, had zero feedback, and didn't even know how to put pics on. I contacted him by phone and when he told me the story I couldn't keep myself from trying to help him. I helped the old guy over the phone through getting some pics on his listing that 2nd day but then later he called and said everyone was a rude ass on ebay to him who wrote him. Being I was the only one to call and talk to him and the only one who showed some love for his old stuff the guy actually tried to give me everything after I was the only bidder. I didn't take it of course, but when I opened the first box it was full of items that were not on his listing with a simple note that said enjoy. 4 more large boxes followed. When I put the bid in I wasn't 100% sure if it wasn't an excellent scam, but instead I'll be love'n his thermogloss kit till I die. My Problem with you yesterday was you are asking this RIDILICOUS price of $50,000.00 for a fake kit!! so if that is your definition of purist, Then I guess that's me, but now after reading this post of yours,,So you get this kit essentially for free?? do a little work and now it's payday?? Carl Palmer tried to sell his Billy Gladstone kit a few years back for $30.000.000 there is only 3 of these kits on the planet, celebrity built, celebrity owned, and celebrity played, and his did not sell, and here your asking your price PLEASE!!!DOH

paraphrased original listing, without paraphrasing.....

So...what you are telling us is you have very little integrity? I mean, in most places, that is called "Bait and Switch", and last time I heard, it is a practice that is, if not illegal, at least unethical, or at the very least, slimy, kinda like a polyester suited car guy from the 70s....And I did see the other kit, and it seemed it was properly listed. I did not look through it completely, more just drooled over it than thought, "Wow, what a jerk this guy is". By the way, I saw it independent of this listing, not through your links.

However, you chose to expose yourself as someone of questionable integrity. Looking at the posting, you chose to make this look as though you have drums, or parts, that are actually the real deal, to the uninitiated, and I am certain this was your intention. Am I saying you do not have said peices? No, but after this listing, and your confession that you have no intention of being a good member of the world community, only in it for profiteering, by deceptive means, then no, I would not buy from you. Someone from another country that does not understand "The American Way" of screwing, I mean doing business, could easily misconstrue this as a listing for some part of a drum set that JHB may have actually played. And some young kid, not knowing any better that sees listings like this get so excited and swept up in the "gotta have it" rush never know they are getting the shaft, until after payment has been made, or they get all the way to the end and are ready to lay down money they saved for a long time for that "perfect" kit, and then they are so disappointed....would someone really be that cruel? Looking at and dissecting the listing, for a novice, this looks like someone selling a kit JHB played. And you cannot deny this fact. The pictures and your wording in the text is almost ambiguous, and said young man could get the general idea they might be getting a deal on the JHB kit of their dreams, and Grandma died a few months ago leaving me all that money.......because they only see the "Make Offer" button, not bothering to read the entire text, because it's a bunch of numbers, not really a statement saying "These are not the Actual Drums That John Bonham Played".....And then there is the other story behind this kit, that it came from someone else and it was already in good shape...so which is it?

Do I understand saving seemingly dead drums? Just ask around. I get it, and many people giggle at me, until I am done breathing new life into firewood. Then they ask how I do it, and if I will do it for them, or if I will make a video for them to follow along with so they can learn some new technique, trick or ingenious use for something that may never have been thought of for a drum set, or refinishing product, etc.

But to list a product and intentionally plan on baiting someone into something of a trap?.....nah...

Am I saying I am perfect? Hell no. I am slow, and lazy and just plain brilliant when it comes to restoration and rescue, but at least I am willing to accept my shortcomings, and even post them publicly. But being slimy and less than honest in my listings as to my pure intention? Not gonna happen.

"Ignorance may be overcome through education. Stupidity, however, is a lifelong endeavor." So, educate me, I don't likes bein' ignant...

But you lied. You've put a price of one dollar on your ethics.

No lies, The kit was only up as Buy it now or BEST OFFERS ONLY. I would sell it, all or any of the pieces, just like the bold letters stated. 50,000 is the no haggle price i would take that for all of it. In fact many out there who are just silly rich and don't want to work for something like this, have already made obscene offers for all of it so i was serious about it. I have over 32,000. and 4 years collecting in what was listed. Almost 5000. in the drums alone. 500. more in the 14 spare unplayed 71 heads. Another 750. in the extra 14,13 toms. You try and collect all 1971 2002s and see what it will cost. Ive got close to 2500. in those, not to mention travel costs all over the country to vintage shows (though i'd go no matter what on my last dime). The last black label 24" I let go, and the only one thats gone feebay for a couple years now brought over 1500. and everyone goes nuts for the first year pieces so who knows how high that sets worth, give me offers if you really want them, its the only way i'd sell them, one broad add, why waiste money to feebay?. The giant beat set in unplayed condition i have closer to 3500. in them. The original 69 gong was 1000. Close to a 1000. in nice stands. 2700. in jimmys original copyright sheet music with Johns parts. And i'm up to 16,000 just to here! The listing was with Johns only CERTIFIED set of existing giant beats used regularly by him, I didn't go into detail in the add but the guys who want them know i have them and what, and where, they are and have been trying to buy them from me for years. Yesterday I gave them a chance to buy it all, no haggle, no work. I thought i may also enjoy sharing the kits pics with everyone, but every time i do, someone out there has to say something like " where do these people come from with all thier BS" I don't understand why. As far as using something attractive and expensive to draw attention to something else that ones selling being wrong. Tell ludwig,dw,yamaha, sonor, ect.. that they have a bad idea.

Good luck with your sale. Good luck with your life. Good luck choking down all that tripe your trying to convince yourself is truth. Keep telling yourself that all is good and your not stretching the truth or deceiving or in any way trying to take advantage of anyone. Sleep well little prince.
