Keystone.. no serial number... ball bat intact, couldn't see the felt color... looks pretty clean, no obvious pitting. Works very smooth.

Sorry for the lousy pictures from my cell phone ... he wants to sell the whole kit.. I just want the snare.

Asking $1000 for everything.

If those are pearl drums go out and buy a matching pearl snare. And then offer a trade to make the set he has complete. It just might work.

Its a music store, they don't need a matching Pearl snare. Obviously the guy running the place doesn't know that a Ludwig snare does NOT belong with a Pearl kit, I'd just make him the offer on the snare. They'll sell it seperate, they can always put some crap Pearl snare with it from a student kit.

Ludwig snares are a compliment to any kit.

You say there's no "obvious pitting", if there is none and it's a pre-serial keystone, it might be COB.

Just lowball an offer on the snare, say $300 if it's COB, $100 if it's not, and see what they say.

What kind of Pearl kit is it?

If insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, is it insane to practice?

The Pearls are "Session Customs" really clean. The gent that the music store is selling this kit for is an older car salesman they all knew that has fallen on hard times and is selling off his stuff.

I don't know if I can feel sorry for a car salesman or not:rolleyes: but they won't break up the kit, so I just told them the snare was a special piece of equipment and they should not just let it go as an add on to some Pearl drums.

He said the guy had been given the snare by the wife of a deceased friend who had played so he just stuck it on the kit to make it complete.

So I left my number... maybe I can make an him offer.

Thanks for the feedback and info.

They now have this snare for sale seperately and marked as a Supraphonic for $800.00.

Hmmm... I guess that's why it's guitar shop. :)

SUPER SENSITIVES ARE A REAL PAIN TO USE FOR ELECTRIC MUSIC ie> ROCK, BLUES, ANYTHING WITH LOUD TO MODERATE VOLUME, THEY BUZZ FOR DAYS, ALSO COLLECTABLE WISE THEY BRING LESS MONEY THAN A COMPARABLE 400 OR 402 LUDWIG, FOR A VERY GOOD CONDITION SUPERSENSITIVE $300,00 IS THE GOING PRICE, IF YOU PLAY ORCHESTRIAL THEN IT WILL SERVE YOU WELL, IF YOU PLAY IN A ROCK BAND YOU WILL HATE IT, GO BUY A LUDWIG 400 OR 402 FOR ALL SITUTATIONS EXCEPT ORCHESTRIAL , HOPE THIS IS OF HELP, MARK

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

Well I sure won't be buying it for what they are asking now ... call me crazy but I kind of like the complexity of the design. But then I like twin carbs to. :)

No Keystone kit to stick it behind but I'm working on talking my favorite pawn shop down to the right price on one.

I can live without this one for sure.

Thanks all!
