Here's the rest of the super early Ludwig Ludwig kit. This is everything that came with it. Seeing as I grew up with Zep, Police, concert tom kits and Supraphonics, I don't know much about drums this early. What do you guys think? 20's? I know the snare would be of interest but what about the hardware? Cymbals? Should I sell this as a kit or break it up? I put a pic of the snare in the vintage drum category if you want to see it. Thanks in advance for your responses and thoughts,

Gretsch that stole xmas. you have a home run on your hands, the snare drum big bucks!!!!, the bass drum less but still good, the cymbals one is a k zildjian 20's-30's big bucks, the sock cymbals will do well, the hardware big bucks, 3 hanging cymbal arm's. hihat stand, cymbal clanker for bass drum pedal. cymbal sock mount, you've done very well, including the snare drum, bass drum, cymbals and hardware, at least 3k seriously, detail the snare drum correctly it is your money maker, don't even clean the cymbals, the k zildjian is your #2 money maker, all the hardware is your #3 money maker and the bass drum is your last money maker, Cool1Cool1,, also "the Hot iron" is looking for this very type of kit and era send a pm to him if you want to sell it,
vintagemore2000, thanks for taking the time to pass on the good news. Poppa does need to pay some big bills! When I get brave enough, I'll put the cymbals on eBay in an effort to recoup what I have into it. The snare I plan to restore AFTER the wall heater gets installed in the work shop! Cool!
What size is the bass drum it looks like a 14x26"??
14 x 24 1/2? Oh god, this isn't going to be one of those "impossible to find a replacement drum head" drum is it?
Well, upon closer inspection it looks like the front end of the bass drum is a little warped. The front head has a split on it and it's probably been pulling it out of true for 40 years. The batter side with the in tact head measures 25 1/2 inches inside the hoop (outside diameter of the actual drum shell) all the way around. OK, I'm gonna go saw it up for kindling now...
Yeah the old flesh hoops absolutely wreak havoc on these old tubs, do this take off both rims and heads and measure the shell from end to end, that will give you what you have also for the year you have 26" and 28" where the most common, if it's a 26" i would interested in it. the heads will probably put up a good fight to get them off the shell,
Here you go...

So when we starting the fire!!!!!, here's the skinny, heads aren't that big of a deal, you can have either calfskin heads custom made or do it yourself, or remo will custom make you plastic heads for the drum, but yes it will be a pain, hey as i previously mention the Hot iron is looking for this very ERA drum send him a PM and let him deal with it, if you decide to sell it
