So this puts it somewhere in the late 70's - 80's right? and what about this wrap? I only assumend it's not orignal, but what do you say? The guy is asking for an unreal price but he's also been trying to sell them for almost a year now, so I would like to make him a justified offer, any suggestions?

Yes. Late 70's to mid 80's-ish. They might actually be 4 ply (people keep forgetting about those). What is his price? What does it include in the picture? blah blah blah.

Yep, that's why I dindn't mention the price in the first post :))

But I just think the man might have gotten desperate in the meantime and maybe if I talk him down, explain myself a bit, maybe I would get to a good deal. I am sure he'll never sell it for that much, not in this country anyway, so if I make him an offer maybe he'll call me back in a few days or weeks and aks if still intersted you know :P

But again, what's with the wrap? is that original?

The wrap does not look original and in fact, it looks a lot like the *wrap* that the guy on eBay sells. Another member here, Poppy, used this wrap to cover a child size kit. The wrap *looks* great, but it's been discussed and agreed upon that it won't hold up as well as a standard drum wrap.

I'm no Ludwig expert, but I'm learning a lot (restoring a 70's Luddy kit currently) so take my advice with as much weight as you see fit. Considering the re-wrap and the fact that these are 4 or 6 ply and less collectable, I would place a value of around $400.00 US for it. $1900.00 is completely insane.

The cymbal looks less than desirable and the extra Yamaha tom, while nice, doesn't really add much additional value to the kit, IMHO.
