Even with the exchange rate....its rediculously priced....but, that wasn't my point. The point was that everyone on here who knows about Jazzettes has always claimed to have NEVER seen an actual Mahogany finished kit like in the catalog. Well....here it is....
Yeah, even though the price is insane, your right rare as can be!!! so maybe bigfoot walks among us,
Hey! COOL! Thanks for posting that! That's truly the first time I've ever seen one outside of the catalog picture. It's a beauty! Wouldn't you know it's in Koln, Germany?!?! (Like I'm going to pay that price!) But, yep....that's a first for me! Thanks again!

As Dave has asked, I have posted the pic.

A couple of things to note on that Jazzette:
There is an added tone control on the batter side of the bass drum.
And I noted that, on the 12" tom tom, the lug screws are almost bottomed out -meaning they are tightened all the way down to where they can't go any further into the lugs. I also noted this on my 1969 Jazzette. It seems they spaced the small Classic lugs a little closer to the ends of the shell and thus made it more difficult to tune. When I got my kit, the tom lug screws all had the longer collar on them so they would bottom out a lot faster. I switched them out for some other vintage Ludwig lug screws that had the shorter collar and that fixed the problem just fine. But it is something to make a note of when looking at some of the vintage 12" toms.
Also another slightly weird note is that when i got my kit, it also had two railmount arms attached to the rail. I don't know it this was unusual or common, but the Jazzette in question also has two railmount arms installed. Hmmmmmm....
I love that color!

Hello everybody , sorry for my poor english , I'm italian , my first post . I seen this ludwig jazzette mahogany finish and it seems nobody seen before or very very rare . My questions are : is it not this the drums ( mahogany finish ) Alponze Mouzon played in the early Wheather Report band and later with Mc coy Tyner ? The amazing sound is well recorded in the music of these bands in those times ( '70 - '73 ) . I own Sonors Gretsch and Asba and never found a jazzette i'm searching for and know northing about . Are the sound of the every jazzette the same of Mouzon first "wheater report " record or mc coy tyner "Sahara" and "Enlightenement" records or only the mahogany finish has this sound ? were it made in different woods also ? And last : wich is the right price for a kit now ? THANKS to everybody can reply me . CIAO

What an awkward looking thing. I've never seen 2 of those on one rail, but I guess that's mother necessity at work.Chewie: I thought this was the kit from the "cantina scene" in the first Star Wars. Chewie:

Hi. Can we post this image in the VDG Jazzette section? I tried to contact the seller to ask permission, but then I noticed it was already posted on this thread. Possible? Thanks!
